In a food processor or blender, combine the cottage cheese, avocados, cilantro, red onion, garlic, lime juice, and ground cumin.
Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, you can add a tablespoon of water to thin it out.
Taste the dip and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Blend again to incorporate the seasonings.
Transfer the creamy cottage cheese and avocado dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with extra chopped cilantro and a sprinkle of red onion if desired. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, carrot sticks, or cucumber slices.
