Makes about 4 dozen.
Preheat an oven to 375°F.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
Using a hand or stand mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Add the eggs, beating well. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just shy of combined. Add the chocolate and nuts, mixing until just combined.
Drop rounded 1-tbsp. dough balls onto baking sheets, about 2 in. apart. Bake in batches until lightly browned and set, 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
